History
In 1922 Luisa Spagnoli, one of the founders of Perugina, decided to find a use for the chopped hazelnuts being used in the production of other products.

Silver foil that embraces the chocolate to perfection. A futuristic sky of blue stars adorned with the word Bacio: a promise and an invitation.

Bacio chocolates came on the Italian market in 1922. Initially they had the distinctly unflattering name of Cazzotto, which literally means 'punch-up' and derived from their irregular, squat shape.
